Death Ceremony

DEATH CEREMONY

death is an integral and natural phase in life’s long continuum. by honouring the cycle of death we can understand the gifts of our ancestors, and the necessity of loss and decay as essential to life-affirming transformation.

during the numinous days of the Samhain portal < october 31 - november 7 > the veils between worlds are thin, inviting one to connect with the beloved dead, ancestors, faeryfolk, and shadows of ourselves past, present, and future that need to be decomposed. the descent into the darkness is the restorative contact with Mother Earth, where endings and grief are buried to seed the next cycle. it will take time for the rebirth to emerge, but the waiting is not merely stasis, in the cauldron great mysteries are brewing.

join Kimiko for a stone walk ceremony to honour the departed to celebrate Celtic Samhain, ”summers end,” and Día de los Muertos. We will welcome the Crone - Cailleach, who shapeshifts and keens the lands. She comes to strip the leaves from the trees to quicken the decomposition that feeds life. aged in wisdom and neolithic creation, Cailleach is ancient like the stones she carries in her apron dropping them upon the land becoming the mountains, hills, and sidhes - places where we enter the realm of the faerie. She is the veiled one, keeper of spells and stones, and midwife to the dying, inner realms and dreams.
