Magnolia Mama: Tending the Inner Mother

with Sara and Kimiko

7:00-9:00 pm

Mothering is one of the deepest archetypes of the human heart — the impulse to nurture, protect, create, and sustain life. Yet within this sacred role, there can also be tenderness, longing, and grief. Many of us carry stories with our mothers, the loss of a mother, the ache of distance, or the quiet feeling that we were never fully taught how to receive the love we give so freely.

This gathering is a gentle space to tend to those places.

Through Kundalini yoga, Katonah restorative practices, and a deeply nourishing sound journey, we will soften the body and open the heart, creating space for nature’s mothering intelligence to live within us.

Working with the subtle medicine of Magnolia flower essence, we invite the spirit of magnolia — a flower long associated with ancient feminine wisdom, emotional balance, and deep compassion. Magnolia supports the heart during life’s transitions, calming the nervous system while helping us reconnect with the quiet strength of the maternal presence within.

This ritual honors not only the mothers who raised us, but the inner mother we are continuously becoming — the one who learns to care for the soul, set loving boundaries, and restore balance where we have given too much and received too little.

Together, we will explore how to nurture ourselves as we nurture others: our families, our communities, and the creative work we offer the world.

Bring your mothers, your daughters, your sisters, your friends — or come alone and be held in a circle.

On this day, we remember that love is a gift that moves through generations. And sometimes the most powerful act of mothering is learning how to receive.
