A ritual for representation and diversity with Our Colourful Yoga

Learn the legends of my ancestors and how I’ve learned to navigate with the stars by attuning to my Japanese/American and French Canadian/European roots. Each time I craft a ritual with the moon, I seek to know the source of its flow, rather than perpetuate colonial beliefs upon which most modern spirituality mines,

I ask permission to work with the elements. I ask my ancestors and spirit guides to show me the long forgotten path of sacred reciprocity. I feel into the collective and ask my soul: how may I hold our gathered intent for a more fruitful future.

I came to Montreal to find my paternal roots only to be led into the labyrinth of the Creatrix, Maternal Mother in all her forms. As a devoted Shakta through 15 years of pilgrimage through the realms of Kundalini yoga, I endlessly seek, serve, and worship all her forms. She is beyond origin of blood or homeland, a life source called by so many names. In my Japanese roots she moves like the powerful seiki healing energy, she is of kami gods of shinto, in my European roots she walks with the Magdalenes and Brighid.

We have walked wayward trying to assimilate into a ghosted culture that’s been lost even before it set sail. Loosing our stories is like losing our soul. On this scorpio full moon, gather in community to journey to the waters of your fierce truth and reclaim the power of your diverse sacredness. You are a DNA combination that’s never existed before, and like biodiversity, you are part of the cycle. There’s a bridge you’ve been birthed to build, a medicine you are destined to share. You are an embodiment of what it means to be alive. Magic is in the myth we are co-creating right now…
